I’ve been designing clothes as long as I can remember. Everywhere I went, it came as naturally as breathing, to be inspired by the things people were wearing and think what I would do differently to make it my own. Through young motherhood, when I was looking for a creative outlet, a way to love my body again, and something to call my very own, making my own clothing gave me those things, and connected me to a community of makers with diverse bodies: shape, size, and gender expression.

Life is full of changing seasons, and I am so glad I finally have the opportunity to share that feeling with you. I want to give you something that helps you be your whole self, and whatever body you’re in is welcome and celebrated here. William Morris said, “I do not want art for a few; any more than education for a few; or freedom for a few.” I think that EVERY BODY deserves the dignity and empowerment to wear beautiful clothes that they love, and feel beautiful in, and that fit comfortably.

Reduced Waste * Made to Last

Unsustainable consumption is based upon poor design, so that things don’t work as well as you’d hoped and wear out quickly. That way you have to buy more. Most of us are not in a place where we can stop consuming altogether and live off rain water and sunshine, but we can, in the words of Vivienne Westwood, “Buy Less, Choose Well”. My goal is to make things that work right the first time and last for years. As a very small business (It’s just me here, folks) My model is not perfect yet, but I am working every day to source sustainable fabrics, cut designs efficiently, recycle scraps, and make a product that you love for a long time.

No Sizing Binary

Mass produced clothing typically comes in Men’s small, medium, large... and Women’s small, medium, large… but we all know that people of all genders come in a myriad of sizes and shapes. I think that the variety is beautiful and I want to be a part of creating a world where everyone feels their unique and valuable worth to our collective experience, so we are starting out made to measure, and using the data that we collect to design a new way to size for more diversity as we grow and start keeping stock.

Working on a Human Scale

Right now, it’s just me working here, and we plan to grow slow in a way that supports our sustainability values and honors everyone who we partner with to create your garments. This means that some times turnover will be slower. It’s called slow fashion for a reason. I have made a commitment to protect my work/life balance for my family and for my physical and mental health, so I will work on production and business every day, and add to staff as I need and am able, but things may take a week or two to ship at times, and I hope that you feel the end result is worth it, and appreciate the value of supporting creative workers.
